Defining the rules for a transparent and safe industry necessarily involves joint and coordinated action by the authorities that regulate our business. Argor-Heraeus plays a proactive role in key governing bodies, offering our expertise and experience.
- LBMA (London Bullion Market Association). We cooperate with the LBMA to define the physical-chemical properties that gold and silver must have in order to be labelled Good Delivery and be traded on the London Bullion Market, as well as to define the requisites that gold and silver refineries must satisfy.
- RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council), and ASFCMP (Association Suisse des Fabricants et Commerçants des Metaux Précieux). We work with the foremost associations in the jewellery industry to define the standards to which operators in the chain must conform.
- WGC (World Gold Council). We are members of the World Gold Council and work to define methods for auditing so-called “conflict-free” chains to promote a responsible gold industry.
- OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development). We participate actively in workshops for the implementation of rules guaranteeing the use of clean resources on precious metals markets.
In order to certify our proper compliance to the LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance we engaged PricewaterhouseCoopers to accomplish an audit which outcome is available in the Independent Reasonable Assurance Report:
